Charity, the Community and CSR

While we serve clients across the UK, we remain firmly rooted in the local communities in which we operate. Supporting local causes, charities and community initiatives forms an important part of our approach to corporate social responsibility (CSR).
As an independent insurance broker established in 1946 in Westcliff-on-Sea, Essex, we have a long-standing connection to the communities we serve. We recognise the role we can play in supporting organisations that make a meaningful difference to people’s lives, and our community involvement is shaped by our team, our clients and the areas in which we work, with a focus on long-term relationships rather than one-off gestures.
Throughout the year, our team takes part in staff‑led fundraising activities, awareness campaigns and selected events that support local charities and community organisations.
These initiatives are chosen carefully to ensure they align with our values and allow us to contribute in a practical and considered way.

Local areas we support
Our community involvement reflects the areas in which we operate and the people we work with. While we support clients nationally, our community and charitable activity is typically based in South Essex and focused around Southend on Sea and the surrounding areas where our team live and work.
This local focus allows us to build genuine relationships and support initiatives that have a direct and positive impact within the community.
Previous community and charity initiatives
Over the years, we have supported a range of local charities and community causes, primarily through staff-led fundraising activity and in-office initiatives. These were chosen to reflect both community need and staff involvement and have included:
- Southend Roundtable – Sponsored the bigbeachbang firework display
- Southend Colourthon – Sponsored wristbands to help with raising funds
- Southend Hospital – Undertook part of a sponsored bike ride in bid to contribute towards Southend Hospital cycling around the world.
This experience helps inform how we approach current and future partnerships, with an emphasis on thoughtful, sustainable support.
Our approach to CSR reflects our commitment to care, integrity and community. We aim to support causes that provide tangible benefits locally, while continuing to deliver a professional, regulated insurance service to clients nationwide.
