World Cup Fever!!

June 22nd, 2010 by simonm

The World Cup is well and truely under way, well not for England!  Their next game is Wednesday where the only result that will do is a England win. If you are like me you have no doubt watched the last 2 games in disbelief at the lack of pride and passion on the pitch. Are the fans right to boo the team? Will they put in a better performance against Slovenia? Who will play on the left? Should the vuvuzela been banned! Personally I cant stand the noise it makes, I much prefer hearing the chants of the fans rather than listening to a swarm of bees for 90 minutes. Lets hope Wednesday turns out to be a turning point and England come off the pitch knowing that they have done us proud if not they wont want to read the papers the folloiwng morning.

Where is the summer???

June 18th, 2010 by sarahc

Well we are now into the middle of June, where is the sun?
This weekend I am helping the 1st Shoeburyness scout/cub and beaver packs raise some funds. We have a couple of stalls at the local fair. Last year we did breaking china and raised £500, doing the same this year so here’s hoping for a substaintial addition to our funds.

First day back

June 10th, 2010 by sarahh

Just returned after 5 days in the Isle of Wight. Place was lovely, weather really nice, but accommodation not quite the Ritz. After reading dozens of emails had to get back to the swing of it and start work. Roll on next holiday. 4 months to go and counting. Hopefully it will be a bit nicer.

Camping is fun

June 8th, 2010 by sarahc

Can’t believe it is 2 weeks since I last posted. I really enjoyed my camping trip with the scouts and cubs. We are already planning next years family camp.
As soon as I left that camp I drove to Hastings as my brother has recently purchased 20 acres of woodland nearby. What fun we had camping there, it really was basic camping as there are no facilities there. Great fun though cooking on an open fire. Children really enjoyed themselves climbing trees, playing manhunt and whittling wood. Can’t wait to visit it again soon.
